WFUV Annual Gala

Hey Y'all,
On May 10th I attended the WFUV Annual Gala at Gotham Hall. The WFUV is Fordham Universities 90.7FM public radio station. The event honored the following people: Christiane Amanpour, news anchor for Global Affairs for ABC News was awarded the 2012 Charles Osgood Lifetime Achievement Award in Broadcast Journalism; Al Michaels, sportcaster, was awarded the 2012 Vin Scully Lifetime Achievement Award in Sports Broadcasting (I believe everyone knows his voice); and Michael Dorf, founder of the Knitting Factory, was honored for the 2012 WFUV Community Service Award. Last but not least the dreamy Chris Issac singer/songwriter/musician was honored with both the 2012 WFUV Artist of the Year and 2012 WFUV Sound & Vision Award.

The evening came complete with a live auction from auctioneer Brad Bentoff, V.P. at Sotheby's. I have never attended a live auction before-- it is very exhilarating.
Singer/songwriters Joan Osbourne and Chris Issac both gave an amazing solo performance. I really couldn't wait for him to sing "Wicked Game" which was the third song in. A lot of people say it was a one-hit wonder, but I disagree. It is a timeless hit, I can listen to that song for hours.

Gotham Hall is an amazing venue to have an event at. The space carries a certain New York history that is to be admired both inside and outside of the venue, making it one of my favorite buildings in New York City.
The food was delicious and very cute to look at. I enjoyed the bite sized BLT.
Congratulations to all the honorees, it was a great event.
