Stone Temple Pilots

Hey Y'all,
I attended the STP with Chester Bennington (singer for Linkin Park) concert at Irving Plaza in NYC. I have loved this band forever but I was a bit skeptical about Scott Weiland not being there. I know about the issues with the band members and how a dangerous move such as replacing your frontman can be but I remained a fan.
The Family Values Tour in 2001 that I attended had STP and Linkin Park on the roster and they were both amazing.  Even though they are different rock styles, the merger between STP and Chester seems effortless.
At first I thought is he going to try and twirl around in a sexy dance and sound like Scott? but then he started singing and I saw Chester's gestures: his full force vocals while he's folding forward, the fists he makes when he's in the moment and the performing squats he does.
I couldn't tell if I enjoyed the music because Chester was singing or because these were the sounds of my teenage youth, maybe it's a combination of both.

Maroon 5-Adam Levine

Hey Y'all,
Maroon 5 had a special performance in New York City and they were awesome! The concert is based off their latest album "V". I love Maroon 5 and it's not just because Adam Levine is a cutie. If your in New York City on December 12th 2014, they are part of Z100's Jingle Ball concert lineup.

Depeche Mode in NYC

Hey Y'all,
Depeche Mode has been around since the 80's and I love them! They are touring Europe right now but were here in New York for a webcast. I heard they were performing at SXSW, if this is true I so wish I was there.
The new album Delta Machine will drop on Tuesday March 26th. The first single off the new Album is called "Heaven" but I think it should have been "Angel".
I just can't get enough of this band. The performance was about an hour which was a tease for me; however, it's a question of time. It's a strangelove that I feel, If you have no idea what I'm talking about try walking in my shoes. I can spend hours listening to them. You put on your ipod, click on Depeche Mode, click on "All Songs" and you'll be in heaven, over and over.
Unfortunately, the videos I took are short because I wanted to live in the moment with DM, this was one of those selfish times.

Nikka Costa took me on a Roller coaster

Hey Y'all,
One of my friends invited me to go see Nikka Costa at the Highline Ballroom. I will admit I only knew her single "Everybody got their something", so I was excited to listen to more of her music.

This woman was sick... I was in complete awe of her. She infuses funk, soul and blues music with lyrics that are  inspirational and powerful. Nikka's dance moves are sexy and electrifying, the woman does not stop dancing. Nikka connects with her audience in a sassy way; telling everyone "Put your fucking cameras away, we're gonna live in the moment and enjoy each other" and everyone complies.

Costa reaches out to you, making you feel like "Damn, she knows what I'm going through". In between her performance she spoke to us about feeling tired and struggling with all the negative challenges we all face in life. She talked about being stressed out day to day, trying to over come whatever it is that is preventing or prolonging our happiness; then she made it a point to say how strong and determined we all are and to fight for that happiness. I don't think I have ever felt more moved and emotional at a concert than Nikka Costa made me feel at that moment. She is one of my favorite artist ever, check out her YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/nikkasbox?feature=watch.
