It's Fascinating to DIY!

Hey Y'all,
I love Fascinator hats; However, they are pricey suckers and everyone knows how I feel about spending a huge amount of money so, I made my own. The process is pretty simple and some of the materials I used were from stuff I had laying around the house.
Now, I made a small proto-type just to get the feel for what I wanted and how to apply each piece. These materials were from stuff around the house also.

Materials:
-Glue Gun (Thanks to my friend JN for lending me his)
-Scissors (I own)
-Safety Pins (I own)
-Small Comb clip (I own)
-Decorative berries and leaves (From a gift basket I got)
-Satin Fabric (From an old dress that no longer fits me)
-Tulle (Bought from a fabric store: $5 Bucks)
-Foam cap (From a prop I had)

I attended a wedding this weekend and it gave me the perfect opportunity to sport my very own fascinator.

The Tweet is Right!

Hey Y'all,
This is Social Media Week! February is the busiest time between Fashion Week, Chinese New Year, some weird day where everyone wants to wear red and this week, you're bound to need a nap from it all.
I attended the Tweet is Right: A Social Media Game Show Party hosted by the Meltwater Group.

"The Tweet is Right is a live, social-media-themed version of the classic game show, The Price is Right. Every 20 minutes, a new prize is announced by the host - Attendees use their smartphone, laptop or tablet to tweet their guess of the retail value of the prize - Tweets contain @meltwater and the event hashtag, #SMWinning - After two minutes, bidding closes - The first person to tweet the right value, or the closest margin, without going over, wins - The winner is invited to "come on down" to the stage to claim the prize (must be present to win.)"

I didn't win anything but had fun trying!

Jorge Vega Umana- XALTEVA

Hey Y'all,
I wrapped up Fashion Week with Jorge Vega Umana. He called this collection XATLEVA. Their program said this was "a modern classicism a Babe Paley of today attending a board meeting, going to dinner or a gala night out."

Masquerade Ball

Hey Y'all,
I was very excited to attend my first Masquerade Ball at Riverside Church. The La Vie Parisienne event was a 1920's theme.
I wore an Eva Franco dress with ankle strap shoes and paired it with a green Venetian mask. I didn't want to wear the traditional black mask but after purchasing the non-refundable mask I noticed I had too much green going on, so I altered it a bit with some lace fabric I had laying around the house (Thank goodness for glue guns).
They had a live jazz band and several performances take place throughout the night, the church was beautiful, it was definitely a warp back in time.
