Hurricane Sandy

Hey Y'all,
It's been pretty difficult for me to post. Ever since Hurricane Sandy hit New York, everyone has been making efforts to assist the people in need. The people who have lost everything are not only struggling with trying to get back to normal but they also have the holidays fast approaching them without any resources to give their families a nice holiday.
I do not feel comfortable posting events while knowing so many people are without. So, I have been dedicating my time and effort to donating as much as possible.
Everything must be taken one step at a time to what will be a long rehabilitating process. If anyone is interested in donating I have posted several links below.

Solstice in Times Square

Hey Y'all,
I attend the summer solstice yoga in Times Square every year. Summer solstice the when the sun is at its Northernmost point. Every year that I attend this event gets bigger and bigger. I remember when the event was only held at Military Island before the green spaces were created. Now, every island is taken up from 42-47 Streets.

Taking a yoga class in the middle of one of the busiest places in the world is the best feeling ever. Stressed out New Yorkers usually find calm and solitude in other parts of the world but to be allowed to reach a state of serenity in this particular place brings great enjoyment. It is the ultimate test for individuals to center themselves within a chaotic and electrified maze.
Each year I feel a lot calmer and more connected with my City. Namaste New York!

NEW YORK CITY GIANTS PARADE "GO BLUE!!"

Hey Y'all,

As you all know the New York Giants have won Superbowl XLVI against the New England Patriots. It was an amazing game but even more amazing was attending the Ticker Tape Parade where the team members were given the Key to the City by Mayor Mike Bloomberg. GO GIANTS!

Gong Xi Fa Cai! Year of the Dragon

Hey Y'all,
I love celebrating Chinese New Year; The best part for me is the parade, with thousands of spectators occupying Chinatown it was the place to be on Sunday 1/29/12.
This year we celebrate the Year of the Dragon. Dragons are the free spirits of the Zodiac, giving me the understanding they are in a league of their own. Conformation is a Dragon's curse.

 Dragons must be free and uninhibited. The Dragon is a beautiful creature, colorful and flamboyant. An extroverted bundle of energy, gifted and utterly irrepressible, everything Dragons do is on a grand scale - big ideas, ornate gestures, extreme ambitions. However, this behavior is natural and isn't meant for show. Because they are confident, fearless in the face of challenge, they are almost inevitably successful. Dragons usually make it to the top. However, Dragon people be aware of their natures. Too much enthusiasm can leave them tired and unfulfilled. Even though they are willing to aid when necessary, their pride can often impede them from accepting the same kind of help from others. Dragons' generous personalities give them the ability to attract friends, but they can be rather solitary people at heart. A Dragon's self-sufficiency can mean that he or she has no need for close bonds with other people.The Dragon is a creature of myth and legend. A symbol of good fortune and sign of intense power, the Oriental Dragon is regarded as a divine beast - the reverse of the malicious monster that Westerners felt necessary to find and slay. In Eastern philosophy, the Dragon is said to be a deliverer of good fortune and a master of authority. Therefore, those people born in Dragon years are to be honored and respected.
